In recent decades, towers have become the default of planning in Israel. But do they really produce more housing, community and quality of life — or rather disconnected, expensive, car-dependent spaces?

We examined the alternative: fabric-based, human-scaled, ground-attached building with active streets, mixed uses, neighborhood commerce and courtyards. We asked how to renew neighborhoods, add housing and build lasting urbanism — without turning Israel's cities into a forest of towers.
